ABOUT DPC
Precision Manufacturing with a Personal Touch, Since 1965
Founded in 1965 by Bill and Frank Dawson, Dawson Precision Components (DPC) has always stood for quality, reliability, and integrity. From our early days supplying the Ferranti Group to our role today as a trusted partner across advanced engineering sectors, our values remain the same.
Still family-owned and operated, DPC is led by Managing Director Simon Dawson, alongside Finance Director Julie Hughes and Sales Director Paul Dawson. Our family roots bring a personal approach to everything we do, combining progressive thinking with hands-on pride in every part we make.

Smart, Scalable Manufacturing
Over the years, we’ve continued to invest in our people, facilities, and technology. Today, DPC is a smart factory, using advanced admin software and integrated systems to manage everything from quoting and customer enquiries to CAD drawings, scheduling, and delivery.
OUR FACILITY
Our facility has undergone four major expansions since the 1970s, most recently in 2024, when we increased the shop floor by nearly 50% as part of a £1.2 million investment in additional space, equipment, and infrastructure. This expansion reflects our long-term commitment to sustainable growth and capacity for high-volume, high-precision manufacturing.
OUR OPERATION
We operate an extensive range of machinery including 21 CNC turn-mill centres, predominantly bar-fed with driven tooling, and three vertical machining centres for secondary operations. This enables us to handle everything from highly complex one-off prototypes to high-volume production runs, with precision, repeatability, and speed.
OUR CAPABILITIES
Our capabilities span a wide range of materials, including aerospace alloys and engineering plastics such as PTFE, PEEK, acetal and nylon, which account for up to 15% of our throughput. We consistently achieve tight tolerances across all materials, supporting even the most demanding industry requirements.
OUR SERVICES
With over 40 skilled team members, we offer precision CNC milling and turning services to industries including aerospace, medical, marine, automotive, aviation, petrochemicals, and utilities. From intricate components to essential batch runs, our mission is to solve the world’s bigger problems by getting the small parts exactly right.
Skilled People. Sustainable Growth.
DPC is powered by a dedicated team of long-serving, highly experienced engineers and machinists, skilled across both CNC and manually operated machinery. Their technical expertise ensures consistency and quality at every stage, from machining to inspection. Crucially, they also play a key role in shaping the future. Our experienced staff actively mentor the next generation, passing down traditional engineering techniques to complement the latest innovations in manufacturing. We work with respected UK training partners including:

All DPC apprentices complete the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, gaining real experience on advanced machinery and working closely with mentors from day one. Our ongoing investment in structured training and development ensures a strong, future-ready workforce.

“Our team is our strength, and we make sure their knowledge is passed on.”
UNMATCHED TALENT.
Leadership from Within.
Our team is led by experts who understand our processes from the ground up. Our Works and Tooling Manager brings a deep understanding of complex workholding and technical tooling. Our Production Manager, who began as a DPC apprentice, now oversees the smooth running of operations, using his extensive manufacturing knowledge to keep production on track and forward-thinking. Both are natural problem-solvers who drive innovation on the shop floor, constantly seeking out new techniques to benefit our customers.
People First,
Quality Always
We place huge importance on integrity, service, and relationships, not just in what we make, but in how we work. That’s why many of our client and supplier relationships span decades.
As a progressive, family-owned employer, DPC offers fulfilling, long-term careers with competitive rewards and a commitment to job satisfaction. Because when we invest in our people, we invest in our future.
Proudly British.
Proudly Local.
Our factory and offices are located in Oldham, Greater Manchester, and we’re proud to play an active role in our community. We support UK manufacturing, offer student placements, and regularly contribute to local initiatives and charitable causes.
From shop floor to smart factory, we’re built on trust, teamwork and technical excellence. And we’re just getting started.

“DPC solve all the problems that come with small parts, and we do it properly.”
With decades of proven expertise and a commitment to continuous improvement, Dawson Precision Components is more than a supplier; we’re a strategic partner. Whether you need ultra-precise components, reliable delivery, or responsive engineering support, we’re here to help you achieve more with confidence.
